CBC PODCASTS LAUNCHES THREE NEW CRIME TITLES

The new titles introduced to viewers this Spring include “The Next Call,” “The Village: Season Two,” and “A Death In Cryptoland," all set to premiere throughout the month of June.

CBC has revealed three new crime titles set to be added onto its Spring 2021 podcast slate. The series are called "A Death In Cryptoland" and "The NExt Call," as well as "The Village," al set to become available on CBC Listen.

"The Next Call"is set to launch on 8th June. The five-part series covers unsolved cases amid a pandemic, running through callls, videos, and other pieces of evidence to uncover clues. The show is hosted by David Ridgen. “Ridgen is incredibly thorough and his sensitive Canadian approach sets Someone Knows Something apart from the pack," Vulture said.

Just a few weeks following "The Next Call"'s launch is "The Village: Season Two," set to debut on 23rd June. The 5-part show follows a transgender women who know what it means to be marginalized, overpoliced and underprotected, and the violence that results. A community of sex workers, in particular, is too often criminalized and vulnerable.Justin Ling will host and narrate the stories of the victims.

"A Death In Cryptoland," hosted by Takara Small, examining the lingering questions behind the alleged death of Gerald Cotten, CEO of Canada’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, QuadrigaCX. New episodes will be released every Tuesday over the next four weeks. CBC offers more than 35 series genres, including true crime, comedy, human interest and audio fiction.
