TF1 Studios has added feature film "Funny Birds" directed by Hanna Ladoul and Marco La Via, to its line-up for the Cannes Film Market 2022. “We’re thrilled to team up again with these talented producers with strong track-records," Sabine Chemaly – EVP International Distribution Films Newen Connect - TF1 Studio, said. "We were all moved by the intergenerational story of Funny Birds, Catherine Deneuve will shine as a free-spirited, independent woman who comes back into her daughter and grand-daughter’s life, while they’re opposed in so many ways."
The movie, produced by Julien Madon and Aimée Buidine under Cheyenne Federation, Melita Toscan du Plantier and Raphaël Gindre, is co-produced by TF1 Studio and distributed by Newen Connect – TF1 Studio team. Martin Scorsese will contribute as executive producer.
The Newen Studios film label will be present in Cannes from 17 to 25 May during the Film Market to introduce its 2022 catalog. International buyers will be able to meet the TF1 Studio - Newen Connect teams on their stand in the Gray D'Albion Residence at 4 rue des Serbes - Entrance H - 1st floor.
The drama will follow the story of three generations of women from the same family. These women, played by Catherine Deneuve, Andrea Riseborough and Morgan Saylor, will find themselves gathered under tragic circumstances and will have to learn to live together on a small rural chicken farm in New-Jersey.
