This 2019-2020 season, CBS is regarded as “America’s Most-Watched Network” for the 12th season straight. In addition, despite not specifying a date, the network plans to bring back the majority of its current programming in the fall while adding three new series to the lineup.“We’re excited to come off another season as America’s Most Watched Network and, despite the obvious challenges around us, put together another winning lineup,” said Kelly Kahl, President, CBS Entertainment. “Next season, we’ll have five breakout returning freshman series and three compelling new shows placed into a schedule with the incredible stability for which CBS is so well known. Couple that with our broadcast of Super Bowl LV next February and CBS is simply loaded with a lineup that will clearly appeal to both our advertising partners and our loyal viewers.”

CBS now has now had over 7.74 million viewers, which is 1.1 million viewers, or 17% more than NBC, who takes second place at 6.63 million viewers, 21% ahead of Fox which has 6.40 million, and 40% ahead of ABC, which has 5.51 million. According to Nielsen NPower’s 6-minute qualifier, most current ratings running through Sunday, 10th May show that CBS has reached almost 224 million unique viewers this season across all times of the day, beating its closest competitor, the Super Bowl by more than 340 thousand viewers.

The two shows that will premiere in the fall include the comedy “B Positive,” from Chuck Lorre, and drama “The Equalizer” starring Queen Latifah. “B Positive” will air on Thursday at 8:30 p.m. following “Young Sheldon,” and “The Equalizer” is scheduled for Sunday at 8 p.m. “Clarice” will premiere midseason. The Super Bowl will be broadcasted on 7th February 2021. The release followed that of other networks, such as Fox and The CW, which have made changes to their lineups in an attempt to offset production delays due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Fox postponed its summer shows for the fall, and The CW is postponing its new season until January 2021.

This will be the network’s 17th win in the last 18 years. So far, CBS has won 18 out of 33 weeks this year, including the last 13 in a row, to win. CBS is also #1 in late night and daytime, sweeping all three key dayparts for the fourth consecutive year. Some of the highlights of CBS’ winning 2019-2020 season include CBS having 14 of the top 30 “most-watched” broadcast series, more than any other network. The company also has 11 time-period-winning programs, more than all other networks combined. Seven CBS series are averaging more than 10 million viewers, the top five comedies, and eight of the top 10. Despite CBS previously announcing the renewal of 80% of its current programming for next season, Monday nights will remain intact, with comedies “The Neighborhood” and “Bob Hearts Abishola” follows by “All Rise” and “Bull.” “FBI: Most Wanted” joins “NCIS” and “FBI” on Tuesday nights and “The Amazing Race” is added to Wednesday nights in the fall.
