Top-rated and award-winning Filipino program "Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho" (KMJS) won a Bronze Tower Trophy at the 2025 New York Festivals TV & Film Awards for its investigative documentary “Nickel and Dime: The Cost of Mining in Homonhon Island" ("Minahan sa Homonhon Island").
Aired on April 17, 2024, the episode examined the long-term environmental and social consequences of large-scale nickel mining on Homonhon Island in Guiuan, Eastern Samar. Through compelling storytelling and field reporting, the piece spotlighted the plight of local communities amid extractive industrial activities.
