Thema América announced the launch of “Hot Summer,” a selection of premieres of the best Turkish series so that the Hispanic female audience in the U.S. can enjoy staying home this summer. Kanal D Drama is the product of a strategic alliance between THEMA and Kanal D International, the leader in exporting Turkish productions globally, the first and only channel that distributes the best Turkish dramas worldwide.

These new and captivating Turkish dramas feature the highest production quality and are presented entirely in Spanish. They are making their on-screen debut on Kanal D Drama, Xfinity, and Xfinity On Demand this summer, starting with two major releases in June: "Secretos" and "Más Allá de las Nubes".

The miniseries "Secretos" airs on the morning of June 18 at 12:30 a.m. Eastern time / 9:30 p.m. Pacific. It tells the story of Kemal, played by Kaan Tasaner, who is well known for his role as Erdogan in the series "¿Qué culpa tiene Fatmagul?" Kamal, his wife Leyla, and their two children lead an enviable life. They seem like the perfect family until the night when two police officers detain their oldest son, Kerem, at an event. Kemal and Layla begin looking for answers about their son’s arrest, but that same night they receive a message that confirms that their son has been kidnapped. Unable to turn to the police for help, they hire an ex-police officer named Mehmet to investigate the kidnapping, who will soon realize that this case is more complicated than it seems. To the investigator, everyone close to the family becomes a potential suspect -- all except Leyla, who suffers terribly from the kidnapping of her son.

For its part, "Más Allá de las Nubes" premieres on June 19. It is sure to be a hit with Latino audiences in the U.S., because it features a stellar performance by renowned actor Engin Akyürek, from the hit drama "¿Qué culpa tiene Fatmagul?" The series tells the story of a mayor, Aslan Bulut Ünal, and his family. They are living a peaceful life on the margin of the imposed family rules, until one fine day, this order is disturbed by the arrival of a doctor in the village. Dr. Serdar Batur, who worked in health programs for the U.N. for ten years, attending to emergency situations around the world, arrives in Güzelyurt, a border town located in a mined area. Narin is an innocent and fragile young woman, who spoke to the clouds and asked God for help before falling prey to the sick and obsessive love of Mustafa, played by Akyürek. Serdar and his mother learn of the suffering of the beautiful Narin and try to save her from it. But Mustafa will not let the girl he loves escape easily. Spurred by the fire of his uncontrolled passion, he vows to burn and eliminate anyone who gets in his way.

On July 14, Kanal D Drama will screen "El precio del Amor", a miniseries that will captivate Turkish drama fans from its first episode. It tells the story of Azra Özak, an ambitious young tennis trainer, who together with her boyfriend Kerem works at an exclusive athletic club. Their lives change dramatically when they meet Şebnem Vural, a young millionaire. One day, Şebnem passes out during a tennis class and his secret comes to light; he suffers from leukemia and will soon die. Azra discovers this and hatches a plan to inherit Sebem’s fortune. This series will air Monday through Friday at 10:50 p.m. Eastern time / 7:50 p.m. Pacific Kanal D Drama, Xfinity, and Xfinity On Demand.

In this time of pandemic, one drama that will give the Spanish-speaking audience in the United States something to talk about this summer is "Así es la vida", which Kanal D Drama will premiere in August. The series takes place in a private hospital where the doctors and other health personnel dedicate themselves to saving lives, without charging or expecting anything in return. However, the hospital is about to go bankrupt, and many of the doctors who work there start to resign en masse, causing chaos. The series premieres on August 24 and will be shown Monday through Friday at 10:50 p.m. ET / 7:50 p.m. Pacific.
