LIGHTBOX, ALTITUDE, UNIVERSAL PICTURES, AND HBO TO LAUNCH “TINA” DOCUMENTARY

The Lightbox feature documentary based on musical icon Tina Turner is set to debuted by Universal during early summer, while Altitude will release it in April and HBO in March.

Altitude, Lightbox, and Universal Pictures Content Group have announced the worldwide launch of the landmark feature documentary, "Tina," from award-winning directors Dan Lindsay and T.J. Martin and Academy Award-winning producer Simon Chinn and Emmy Award-winning producer Jonathan Chinn, together with Emmy Award-nominated producer Diane Becker.

Universal Pictures Content Group acquired global rights excluding North America and the UK with a theatrical release set for multiple regions in the early summer before it’s released on digital, TV, SVOD, and other Home Entertainment platforms. Altitude will release the film theatrically and on home entertainment across the UK and Ireland in April concurrent to its broadcast on Sky Documentaries. It will debut in March in the US exclusively on HBO and will be available to stream on HBO Max.

The documentary showcases the life and career of musical icon Tina Turner, charting her rise to early fame, personal and professional struggles throughout her life, and her even more improbable resurgence as a global phenomenon in the 1980s. This film features interviews, never-before-seen footage, audiotapes, and personal photos.
