Samsung’s free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) service today announces a host of new channels and content in Europe for its autumn lineup, bringing audiences even more premium regional content from across Europe. The new channels and content cover key areas of interest such as news, sports, and entertainment. Let's briefly go over each of them.

In terms of news, BFMTV is launching "BFM2" to provide French Samsung TV Plus viewers with more live, continuous coverage of the key events they need to know about, highlighting the growing importance of high-quality journalism. Spanish viewers, meanwhile, will now have access to "CNN en Español" as their new reliable international news channel. Available 24 hours a day in Spanish, it delivers the latest headlines and breaking news from Latin America and around the world.

Regarding sports, the latest season of European football has arrived, and DAZN is bringing the action to Samsung TV Plus viewers. The 2024/25 UEFA Champions League season kicks off with DAZN’s exclusive "UCL Show" on "DAZN FAST+", airing twice every Champions League week for German Samsung TV Plus viewers. Additionally, these viewers will also get access to live broadcasts of top matches from LaLiga, Ligue 1, and Serie A. Football lovers in the UK, Nordics, and the Netherlands won’t miss out either, as they will be able to catch live UEFA Women’s Champions League matches on the exclusive "DAZN Women’s Football" channel, branded as "DAZN Rise" in Germany and Austria.

Moreover, Samsung TV Plus viewers in the UK, Spain, and Sweden can now watch live matches from the Men’s and Women’s DFB-Pokal, 3. Liga (Third Division), U-19 Youth Bundesliga, and various national teams, thanks to "DFB Play TV," the new FAST channel of the German Football Association. In the UK, "DFB Play TV" will be available exclusively to Samsung TV Plus viewers.

When it comes to entertainment, Samsung’s ongoing partnership with Nexo TV is expanding in Italy with the launch of four new film channels. These channels feature a selection of blockbuster films that not only dominated the box office but also attracted large audiences on Italy’s major networks. Now, these films are distributed through Nexo TV’s channels on Samsung TV Plus. "Comedy Time" is entirely dedicated to comedy, offering a wide selection of films from teen comedies to romantic favorites, providing entertainment for the whole family. "Western Time," curated by Leone Group, a company founded by the legendary Sergio Leone, showcases iconic westerns. Meanwhile, "Crime Time," also from Leone Group, caters to fans of thrilling stories, featuring high-octane blockbusters filled with murder mysteries and action, launching in November. Lastly, "Christmas Time," a seasonal pop-up channel, will bring the magic of Christmas into homes with a lineup of heartwarming holiday classics. These four channels exemplify Samsung’s and Nexo TV’s commitment to delivering premium content experiences to viewers.

In France, fans of the series Chronicles of the Sun (Un Si Grand Soleil), which follows the daily lives of families and characters in Montpellier, will be able to watch it on FAST through Samsung TV Plus for the first time. Produced by France.tv studio (Epeios Production) and distributed by France TV Distribution, the first three seasons will be available on Samsung TV Plus, allowing fans to revisit their favorite episodes and attracting new audiences to this national favorite soap opera.

In Germany, viewers have an exciting lineup of new content arriving this autumn. Samsung is strengthening its relationship with ITV Studios by adding new titles like Fluss Monster ("River Monster"), the globally acclaimed show featuring biologist and extreme angler Jeremy Wade. In collaboration with ZDF Studios, Samsung TV Plus will also launch "ZDF zu Hause," a new channel showcasing ZDF's most popular home and garden shows, as part of a pan-European partnership. Additionally, ARD Plus, through its distribution partner High View, will offer nostalgic TV shows on FAST, including Lindenstraße, a series that made history as the first German soap opera.

Other fan-favorite dramas, such as Poldark (UK), Harlots (UK), Bosch (UK and Germany), and more to be announced soon, will also be added to the autumn lineup, available exclusively on Samsung TV Plus. The new channels and content launched by Samsung TV Plus and its European partners reflect the rapid growth and quality of FAST channels across Europe.

The surge in FAST consumption is reshaping the European streaming media landscape, with Samsung TV Plus experiencing nearly double the consumer viewing growth. According to Samsung Ads research, 64% of viewers believe that content on FAST channels is improving, and 30% anticipate increasing their FAST consumption in the future.

Jennifer Batty, Director of Content Partnerships at Samsung TV Plus and The Art Store, outlined the current state of affairs:“At Samsung, we’re committed not only to expanding our platform with fresh, exciting content for our viewers but also to creating meaningful opportunities for our content partners. This autumn lineup reflects our continued investment in bringing the best news, sports, and entertainment channels to audiences while helping our partners connect with new viewers in a rapidly evolving streaming landscape," stated.
