All3Media International has secured a raft of international acquisition deals with Hulu, Foxtel and Britbox for Sister’s "Better." The title will become available across Europe, Australia, New Zealand, South America and the U.S. "Sister’s utterly compelling series breathes new life into the traditional police corruption drama, offering both a fast paced, tightly plotted thriller and compelling character study of a woman grappling with her conscience and morality after decades of wrongdoing," Maartje Hochner EVP Content at All3Media International said.

Following the series premiere on commissioning broadcaster BBC One in the UK earlier this year, streaming platform Hulu is the latest global partner to launch Sister’s five-part series with US audiences now able to watch all episodes. Following successful international deals the series, written and created by Jonathan Brackley and Sam Vincent, has also launched on Pickbox in the Balkans, Sýn hf in Iceland, Binge and Foxtel On Demand in Australia and on TVNZ in New Zealand.  Additional recent deals that will see the drama playing later this year include BritBox International for Denmark, Norway, Finland and Sweden, NPO in the Netherlands, VRT in Belgium and America Video Films S.A. in a pan territory deal covering South America.

"Better" follows the story of Lou, played by BAFTA nominee Leila Farzad, a high ranking police officer, whose shared history with powerful criminal Col (Andrew Buchan) continues to bind her to him despite their separate paths.  But one night, when Lou’s teenage son almost dies, Lou’s finds herself grappling with a painful moral awakening. As she sets herself out on a path towards redemption and fights to atone for her past, refusing Col’s orders and correcting historical misdeeds, she soon recognises Col himself is the highest expression of her corruption and her redemption won’t be complete until she brings him to justice.

The title is set in a world where everyone has their own version of “right” and “wrong." Examining the power of human conscience and the need for redemption, Better examines the ties that bind, the ties that define, and the ties that break.  "Featuring a stellar central performance from Leila Farzad who expertly balances Lou’s flawed and complex journey to redemption with wit, humor and humanity, 'Better'’s enthralling storytelling, universally powerful themes and fantastic cast, have connected with leading international partners and their audiences around the world," Hochner said.
