"Severance"
Apple TV+ has announced that the hit thriller series "Severance" has been officially renewed for a third season. The news was confirmed by executive producer and director Ben Stiller, who expressed his excitement about continuing the critically acclaimed show. The first two seasons of the title, which have garnered widespread acclaim and multiple awards, are currently available for streaming globally on Apple TV+.
The Emmy and Peabody Award-winning series, hailed as one of the best TV shows of the past decade, follows Mark Scout (played by Emmy nominee Adam Scott) and his team at Lumon Industries, who have undergone a revolutionary severance procedure that surgically separates their work and personal memories. As the boundaries between these two worlds begin to blur, Mark finds himself at the center of an unraveling mystery that challenges the nature of his work—and himself.
Season two of "Severance" deepened the intrigue as Mark and his colleagues grappled with the dangerous consequences of tampering with the severance barrier, leading them further into a path of suspense and revelations. Alongside returning cast members, season two introduced new series regulars Sarah Bock and Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, adding fresh dynamics to the gripping narrative.
Executive producer Ben Stiller shared his enthusiasm for the renewal, spoke with affection about the production process: “Making 'Severance' has been one of the most creatively exciting experiences I’ve ever been a part of. I can’t wait to continue exploring this world with our brilliant cast and crew," stated.
Meanwhile, Creator, writer, and executive producer Dan Erickson echoed the sentiment: “The opportunity to continue telling this story with such an extraordinary team is a dream come true. I look forward to delivering more twists, dread, and thrilling moments for our audience," commented.
The show’s first two seasons have been lauded for their masterful storytelling, exceptional performances, and thought-provoking exploration of work-life balance. Viewers can now catch up on the complete first and second seasons of "Severance", streaming globally on Apple TV+, as anticipation builds for the upcoming third season.
