Banijay Rights launched two of its leading FAST TV channels on Samsung TV Plus in the UK, in a deal that further extends its global partnership with the free ad-supported TV service. Bringing more than 400 hours of stand-out content to viewers, Banijay channel brands “Deal or No Deal” in the USA and “McLeod’s Daughters” have now been made available on Samsung TV Plus in the UK.

Both new FAST channels will include full episodes from each series, with “Deal or No Deal” USA featuring the first four seasons of the primetime NBC game show and “McLeod’s Daughters” including all eight seasons of Nine Network’s popular Australian outback drama. This builds on Banijay Rights’ success in the North American FAST Channel (Free Ad-Supported Television) market, where the business first launched its “Deal or No Deal” USA and “Wipeout Extra” channels on Samsung TV Plus US and Canada in 2020. Across Banijay Rights’ entire North American offering, the channels generated 14.4 million hours of viewing in 2020 alone, rising to 39.3 million hours in 2021 – a 173% increase.

“The UK is a rapidly growing market in the FAST TV and AVOD space, so it’s an exciting time to extend our channel slate on Samsung TV Plus following our success in North America. With the Banijay Rights catalog now exceeding 120,000 hours of unique content, these channel launches are the perfect way to attract new viewers to some of our leading global IP - and we expect further phenomenal growth in the coming months,” Shaun Keeble, VP Digital, Banijay Rights, said.
