BBC Studios has announced that Marcin Boroszko has been appointed to the newly created role of Director of Ad Sales, Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). He will be based in Warsaw and report to Bartosz Witak, General Manager for CEE at BBC Studios. Responsible for developing and implementing innovative advertising sales strategies for the region and identifying new business opportunities across multiple platforms, the executive took up his new position on July 1, 2024.

Bartosz Witak, General Manager for CEE, said: “Marcin brings a wealth of experience across TV, online video and ad sales to this new role, which has been created in line with our ambition to drive growth and innovation in the region.”

With over three decades of experience in the media industry, Boroszko most recently served on the Supervisory Board and Audit Committee of Kino Polska. His tenure as Chief Sales Officer (CSO) of Ringier Axel Springer Polska and Onet (2016-2019), saw him successfully merge the ad sales teams of RASP and Onet, enhancing team engagement and performance. Prior to this, as CEO for advertising specialist AtMedia Group, Boroszko oversaw operations across Poland, the Czech Republic and Hungary increasing the group’s market share and revenue.

BBC Studios continues to build its presence in the CEE region. In June, premium drama channel BBC First launched in the Czech Republic with O2, and Slovak Telecom in Slovakia. Advertising sales has also been introduced to the BBC Earth and BBC First channels in Romania.
