Big Bad Boo Studios announces the expansion of their Sales and Distribution team with the appointment of Jerry Diaz as the Vice President of Global Sales and Distribution. A veteran of the industry and former VP Sales and Distribution at Nelvana and Wildbrain, Diazy has more than 30 years of experience, having built sales and distribution channels for iconic brands such as Bob the Builder, Clifford the Big Red Dog, and Backyardigans.
Aly Jetha, CEO and Co-founder said, “We’re ecstatic to welcome Jerry. He brings a wealth of experience to increase our reach into new markets as we continue to grow.” Big Bad Boo’s library has grown recently with the addition of originals such as "Galapagos X", "The Bravest Knight", and "Judge Jodhi." “In addition to growing sales of Big Bad Boo’s Library, Diaz will be focused on representing like-minded properties for sales to broadcasters and streaming platforms” Jetha added.
“I’m very excited to join Big Bad Boo. The company is well regarded in the children’s space for creating and promoting positive content that is laser-focused on values we should be passing on to future generations, like empathy, diversity, acceptance and protecting the planet” says Diaz.
The company has several shows across various age groups in production, including preschool series "16 Hudson", nominated for a Canadian Screen Award, a YMA Award and an Anthem Award, and was recently greenlit for a fourth season. The animation pipeline is also busy with climate change series "Galapagos X" and "1001 Nights", the flagship property recanting the oldest collection of stories including Sinbad, Ali Baba and Aladdin.
“As we scale, having a robust leader is critical to our ability to produce more shows, gap finance series and expand our development slate. Jerry is just the right person to help Big Bad Boo with this expansion," said Shabnam Rezaei, Co-Founder and President of Big Bad Boo.
