Submarine, Night Train Media, Videoland and Zero Gravity announced new cast members joining the action thriller "Safe Harbor" (8x52’), which is currently in production across a variety of European locations. Submarine, which is part of Mediawan the leading independent European studio for audiovisual content, is leading the production. Femke Wolting is executive producing for Submarine alongside Mark Williams for Zero Gravity.  Herbert L. Kloiber, Adam Barth and James Copp are executive producing for Night Train Media. The series is financially supported by Creative Europe, ScreenFlanders and the Netherlands Film Fund. It was commissioned by and developed with anchor broadcaster Videoland in The Netherlands and Belgium’s Streamz. Night Train Media is financing and controlling worldwide distribution rights, and sales for the series are undertaken by Eccho Rights, part of the Night Train Media Group.

Joining the cast is multi award-winning Colm Meaney ("Layer Cake", "Con Air", "Gangs of London"), Pauline McLynn ("Father Ted", "Last Night in Soho", "Silent Witness"), Damien Molony ("The Split", "Crashing", "Brassic") and Daniel Lapaine ("Catastrophe", "Black Mirror"). The news comes after the initial cast was announced late last year, which includes Emmy and Tony nominated actor Alfie Allen ("Game of Thrones", "Rogue Heroes"), Charlie Murphy ("Happy Valley", "Peaky Blinders"), Jack Gleeson ("Game of Thrones", "Sex Education") and Martijn Lakemeier ("The East", "Marie Antoinette"). Filming commenced in the fall of 2023 and the series will be delivered in Q4 of 2024.

Inspired by true events, Safe Harbor follows gifted hacker Tobias (Allen) and his ambitious best friend Marco (Lakemeier), intent on cracking into the tech billionaires club. Marco and Tobias are plucked from quiet obscurity and plunged headfirst into the chaos of organised crime when they cross paths with the Irish mob. Leading the family’s operations in Holland are Sloane (Murphy) and Farrell (Gleeson) who enlist Tobias’ and Marco’s services to hack into the computer system of Rotterdam harbour — Europe’s largest shipping port — to secure the undetected deliveries of drug shipments. Safe Harbor balances edge of the seat action with character-based stories. Dutch director Arne Toonen is directing the series together with Mark Williams and Belgian directing team Norman Bates. Writing is already underway for the show’s second season.
