CreAsia Studio, launched by Deepak Dhar and Banijay Entertainment, and TrueVisions NOW have announced a Thai adaptation of the series “My Chef in Crime,” marking the expansion of the crime-drama franchise into Southeast Asia. The new eight-part scripted format, developed by CreAsia Studio in collaboration with My Shot, is scheduled to premiere exclusively on TrueVisions NOW in the fourth quarter of 2026.

Deepak Dhar, Founder and Group CEO of Banijay Asia and Endemol Shine India, emphasized the regional significance of the project: “CreAsia Studio continues to drive the next wave of creative expansion across Southeast Asia. With non-scripted originals like ‘Race to Space’ and scripted formats like ‘My Chef in Crime’ now set in Thailand, we’re not only building local stories but also shaping a shared regional identity for premium Asian content. Every format we build is designed to spark collaboration and foster exchange across borders, and this marks another step in our journey to make Asia a key player in the global content landscape.”

Ongard Prapakamol, Head of True Visions & Media Division at TrueVisions Group, said, “At TrueVisions, we continue to invest in compelling local storytelling. ‘My Chef in Crime’ is an extraordinary concept that brings together two of Thailand’s biggest passions — food and drama — through an inventive crime narrative. We’re proud to collaborate with CreAsia Studio on this exciting journey.”

Jessica Kam, Executive Vice President and Business Head of CreAsia Studio, added, “‘My Chef in Crime’ is the first scripted format developed and produced by CreAsia, proudly rooted in Southeast Asia. Thailand is brimming with exceptional storytellers and untapped creative brilliance. At CreAsia Studio, we remain committed to creating original formats infused with Asian cultural DNA, designed not only to resonate locally but also to captivate audiences globally.”

“My Chef in Crime” tells the story of a forensic scientist-turned-chef who becomes the main suspect in the death of a rival chef. To clear his name, he applies his expertise in food chemistry and forensic science while partnering with a determined investigative police officer whose past connects to his own. Together, they unravel complex cases through culinary experimentation, all while crafting visually arresting dishes.

The Thai version will be led by producer-writer Pornmanus Rattanavich and a scriptwriting team consisting of Nitikarn Pinmuangngarm, Rapeepimol Chaiyasena, and Punnapat Sutthiwong. Production is set to begin in February 2026 with support from the Department of Cultural Promotion, Ministry of Culture of Thailand, and the Thailand Creative Content Agency (THACCA).

CreAsia Studio has recently expanded its regional slate with projects such as “Race to Space” for Thailand, underlining its commitment to developing original, culturally relevant formats. TrueVisions NOW continues to grow its premium streaming offering in the region, targeting mobile-first viewers with flexible, on-demand access to local and international content.
