The Barcelona-based animation studio, DeAPlaneta, announced the signing of an agreement with the Hungarian animation studio, KEDD Animation Studio, to acquire the innovative and imaginative animated series "Mitch-Match." Thanks to this agreement, DeAPlaneta Entertainment will manage the audiovisual rights for "Mitch-Match" worldwide, excluding Hungary.

KEDD Animation Studio is a prestigious Hungarian animation company founded by Oscar-nominated director Géza M. Tóth, known for its award-winning productions. Animated series such as "Berry and Dolly," "KUFLIS," and "Mitch-Match" have captivated audiences around the world. Géza M. Tóth is a filmmaker who founded KEDD Animation Studio in 2002; since then, as the head, director, and producer, he has worked on various projects, including short films, television commercials, music videos, and experimental works, as well as numerous illustrations in children's books. His short film "Maestro" was nominated for Best Animated Short Film at the 2007 Oscars.

"Mitch-Match" (52x3') is an animated series for young adults and families directed, written, and designed by Géza M. Tóth and produced by KEDD Animation Studio. This dialogue-free series of comedic sketches features a curious and playful matchstick that embarks on unusual adventures. Each episode begins the same way: the main character, the blue-headed matchstick, leaves the box. At the end of each story, it goes back into the empty box. The series is mainly targeted at teenagers. The curiosity and adventurous nature of youth are reflected in the way the protagonist steps out of its safety zone and explores the world around it.

Géza M. Tóth mentioned that the key is complexity from simplicity: "Childhood fantasy can create a complex world from the simplest objects. The series aims to awaken this imaginative capacity in everyone. We decided to use the most basic object—a matchstick—to create a story. The film offers a very creative and playful animation style from the simplest gesture: bringing matchsticks to life and encouraging the audience to piece together the puzzle. With this cinematic gesture, I wanted to find a way to bring out the child within us all," he commented.

In turn, Carlos Biern, Director of Content and Distribution for DeAPlaneta Kids & Family, praised the director's innovative style: "It is unusual to find such innovative talent as the creative team at KEDD Animation Studio. Including an original and imaginative animated series like 'Mitch-Match' in DeAPlaneta Entertainment's catalog allows us to reach a young and family audience interested in animated productions that awaken their imagination in a unique and unconventional way. We have been working closely with our team at DeAPlaneta Entertainment's Eastern Europe office to select and distribute locally produced projects. We are absolutely delighted that the first of these projects comes from Hungary and a prestigious company like KEDD Animation Studio," he explained.

Finally, Toth celebrated the agreement: "We are proud to be professional partners with a successful company with great experience in international distribution like DeAPlaneta Entertainment. We have already achieved numerous international successes at professional festivals and in distribution for the brands, films, and children's animated series developed and produced internally by KEDD Animation Studio in the 22 years of the studio's operation. This agreement is a significant milestone for all these efforts. I am convinced that the international recognition of KEDD's productions will reach a new level with this partnership with DeAPlaneta Entertainment," he assured.
