D.I.M.E.S. and RX France recently launched announced a new DEI initiative, The collaborative effort between the two companies is set to ensure a level playing field for diverse talent within the broadcast media industry. “Our partnership with RX France on this initiative to bring aspiring Broadcast media talent and content creators from historically excluded communities into the industry and to market further confirms our collective commitment to the positive advancement of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for all people in our industry,” International Head of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at D.I.M.E.S, Ray Depatti, said.
The D.I.M.E.S. x RX Empowerment Pact was created to support aspiring broadcast media talent and content creators from historically underrepresented communities through career opportunities and connections with companies and industry leaders through diverse initiatives at MIPCOM, CANNES and Beyond. This collaboration with RX France is in line with the D.I.M.E.S. “Empowerment Pact.” ideals which aims to continue to collaborate with leading global marketplaces, business leaders and corporate entities in the TV, Film, Music, Media, Entertainment and Sports industry to map out socio-economic opportunities within the industries to talented individuals and businesses who fall under the BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, (and) People of Color), LGBTQ+, Women, Non-binary and persons living with disability + other underserved and underrepresented groups.
The Mipcom Cannes Diversify TV Awards will again be staged live in Cannes, France as part of a supersized edition of the 38th edition of Mipcom Cannes from 17th to 20th October, 2022. The awards are organized by Mipcom in collaboration with founding partner DiversifyTV, and in association with founding Presenting Partner A+E Networks, as well as returning Awards Partners Telefilm Canada, All3Media International and D.I.M.E.S., among other sponsors and supporting partners. This year also sees Netflix taking part as in the awards as a Presenting Partner.
The partnership also correlates with D.I.M.E.S. objective which is to partner with 1000 companies by 2030 in pursuit of equality in accordance with the requirements of the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 10). The partnership with RX France is the first of many in the commitment to D.I.M.E.S. goals of eradicating inequality in the TV, Film, Music, Media, Entertainment and Sports industry. D.I.M.E.S. particularly aligns its current programs and initiatives towards SDG 4, SDG 5, SDG 8 and SDG 10. This is evident in the D.I.M.E.S. CSR 2.0, Empowerment Pact, D.I.M.E.S. Pledge, D.I.M.E.S. Connect, D.I.M.E.S. Master-class, and the D.I.M.E.S. TOP100 Awards.
