After announcing the acquisition of the exclusive world-wide distribution rights for the Turkish hit series “My Home, My Destiny,” Eccho Rights hosted a virtual presentation where the company gave more details about this series, which is produced by OGM Pictures for TV8 in Turkey.

Producer Onur Güvenatam from OGM Pictures joined the stars of the series Demet Özdemir and İbrahim Çelikkol, and Fredrik Af Malmborg, Managing Director of Eccho Rights, to discuss about this latest Turkish drama success, which has already scored top ratings and a huge fan following in the domestic market.

“The series is very exciting for us because it is based on a true story. Everything in the story is true; it does not have anything false. Of course it is adapted, but the most important thing is that it is very pure, real, it touches our souls and it gets really emotional,”  Güvenatam commented during the Zoom presentation.

“My Home, My Destiny” follows Zeynep, who is born into a poor family and has few opportunities in life. Her father is an alcoholic, her mother weak and her brother dies due to lack of medical treatment. Her fortunes change when the family that employs her mother as a cleaning lady offers to adopt the young girl. She will learn, be loved and be surrounded by beautiful things; but she always carries a feeling of not belonging.

The series has already been confirmed for a second season due to the extraordinary result on TV8. The producer,, Onur Güvenatam, is also the executive producer behind series like “The Gift” and “The Protector,” both Turkish Netflix originals, as well as long-running hit series “Wounded Love” (Kanal D) and “A Part of Me” (Star TV).

“We have been working with Turkish dramas for over ten years, but I haven’t had such a strong feeling for a new series like for this one. This is a fantastic, relatable and well produced story,”  Fredrik Af Malmborg concluded.
