International distributor Eccho Rights has concluded new deals for hit Turkish drama series “Golden Boy” and “Chrysalis” during Content Americas in Miami. In detail, Atresmedia has acquired “Golden Boy” for Spain, while Mega has picked up both titles in Chile.

We are dedicated to bringing only the best premium dramas to our channels, and ‘Golden Boy’ is without doubt the top title from Turkey this season."

Meanwhile, Manuela Velasco, Head of Acquisitions at Mega, said: “At Mega we are proud of our position as leading broadcasters of Turkish series in the Latin American region, and we are delighted to add two more premium titles that will bring many moments of unmissable drama to our audiences."

“Golden Boy,” produced by OGM Pictures for Star TV, is a classic family drama that tells the story of two sisters, Seyran and Suna, whose paths cross with golden boy Ferit. The two sisters’ lives change forever when Ferit decides to marry Seyran instead of Suna. Seyran will be the new bride in a family full of betrayals, lies and secrets, while Suna will start making revenge plans to get back her stolen future.

“Chrysalis,” produced by OGM Pictures for Kanal D, is the story of Nalan, a young woman full of hope, seeking happiness and love in a world that confronts her with difficulties at every turn. Despite bthese many obstacles, Nalan remains determined to blossom as she grows in her career, her romantic life, and into adulthood.

“‘Golden Boy’ has been an astonishing success, with ratings exceeding anything we have seen for years in Turkey. Meanwhile, ‘Chrysalis’ has been consistently at the top of the viewing charts across three seasons and more than 60 weeks of broadcast. We are excited to see these titles continue to flourish throughout the Spanish speaking world,”  commented Barbora Suster, Head of Latin America and Iberia at Eccho Rights.

●  CHANNEL 5 PICKS UP “THE INHERITANCE”

At the same time, Channel 5 has greenlit four-part primetime thriller “The Inheritance” (4x60’) from Lonesome Pine Productions and Peer Pressure, produced in association with Eccho Rights, which also handles international sales for the title.

“The Inheritance” follows the story of three siblings, Daniel, Sian and Chloe, who are left reeling after the unexpected death of their father. When it turns out they are not left anything in the will, they embark on a dangerous journey to figure out whether his death was truly a tragic accident, or whether it was in fact murder. Then, a family who look harmonious and loving start to show the cracks borne of years of secrets and jealousy.

“The complexity and twists and turns of this brilliant family drama excited us enormously. Familiar characters coupled with the nightmare scenario of a long counted-on inheritance suddenly evaporating is something that will strike a nerve with all of us. We are delighted to be working alongside a great variety of international partners to bring it to life,”  said Adam Barth, Director of Co-productions, Acquisitions, and Development, Eccho Rights.
