Hit Turkish drama series "Golden Boy" distributed by Eccho Rights has been picked up several broadcasters across Latin America, with more deals set to be completed during next week’s LA Screenings. “Buyers are queueing up for what is the biggest Turkish drama sensation we have seen for many years,” says Barbora Suster, Head of Latin America and Iberia at international distributor Eccho Rights.

The series has now been acquired for US Hispanic and Paraguay (Telefuturo), Mexico (Imagen), and Panama (Telemetro + RPC). "Golden Boy" was first picked up in the region by Mega in Chile who completed a deal for the series during this year’s Content Americas event in January. “With several more deals in late stage negotiations, we expect to have at least a dozen LATAM countries closed following LA Screenings,” adds Suster.

"Golden Boy" has already sold to more than 40 territories worldwide, and maintains its position as the most watched drama series each week in Turkey after 31 weeks on air. The title has also scored a number of breakthrough international sales, including becoming the first Turkish drama to air on free-to-air TV in the MENA region since a blanket ban on Turkish productions in 2018. "Golden Boy" also recently became the first Turkish drama ever picked up for broadcast in Finland (MTV Oy/C More), and also the first such title licensed by a commercial broadcaster in Sweden (TV4).

"Golden Boy", produced by OGM Pictures for Star TV, is a classic family drama that tells the story of two sisters, Seyran and Suna, whose paths cross with golden boy Ferit. The two sisters’ lives change forever when Ferit decides to marry Seyran instead of Suna. Seyran will be the new bride in a family full of betrayals, lies and secrets, while Suna will start making revenge plans to get back her stolen future. The series stars Afra Saraoğlu, Mert Ramazan Demir & Çetin Tekindor.
