Hit Turkish drama series “Golden Boy” has been sold to more than 30 countries in just three months since its launch by international distributor Eccho Rights at Mipcom Cannes in October. Latest sales territories include Croatia, Bosnia & Herzegovena and Montenegro (Nova TV), North Macedonia (Kanal 5), Georgia (Imedi TV), and Romania (Antena 1/Happy Channel).

Immediately following its launch in September 2022, the series was licensed to 23 territories throughout the MENA region through MBC Group, while several more deals have been completed, to be announced in the coming weeks.

Since first airing in September 2022 on Star TV, the OGM Pictures series has topped the ratings chart each week in Turkey. By December, “Golden Boy” was established as the most watched drama of the year, with the top 5 highest television audiences of 2022 all belonging to the series.

“Golden Boy” is a classic family drama that tells the story of two sisters, Seyran and Suna, whose paths cross with golden boy Ferit. The two sisters’ lives change forever when Ferit decides to marry Seyran instead of Suna. Seyran will be the new bride in a family full of betrayals, lies and secrets, while Suna will start making revenge plans to get back her stolen future. The series stars Afra Saraoğlu, Mert Ramazan Demir and Çetin Tekindor.

“It is years since we have seen anything like this performance from a drama series in Turkey, so it is no surprise that the interest among international buyers is especially high for this amazing title,"  commented Handan Özkubat, Director of Turkish Drama at Eccho Rights.
