With a second season already in production, highly successful drama "Honour" broke viewing records for Scandinavian streaming platform Viaplay when it premiered last August. Acclaimed Swedish actress Sofia Helin developed the series together with Alexandra Rapaport, Julia Dufvenius and Anja Lundqvist who also star. The series is produced by Stockholm-based production company Bigster (co-headed by Rapaport).
One of the most successful Swedish crime series, "Maria Wern" tells the story of a big city detective who starts a new in the quiet and idyllic island of Gotland to get away from personal tragedies. However big city cases seem to follow Maria from Stockholm, and a series of high-profile murder cases make it difficult for her to change her pace of life.
As well as her police work, Maria must battle with the various stresses of her personal life; raising her family alone, grieving for her lost husband, and dealing with the advances, both welcome and otherwise, of new love interests. Produced by Warner Bros. the series has achieved stellar results on TV4 during its seven seasons.
Directed by Charlotte Brändström, known around the world for her work on acclaimed series such as 'Outlander', gripping thriller series "Conspiracy of Silence" centers on a former weapons dealer forced into exile, who returns to Sweden on a quest for vengeance. The story highlights both the shattered personal lives that the weapons business leaves in its wake, and the moral hypocrisy that allows the trade to flourish.
