Hit Turkish drama series "The Promise" has been sold to new territories across Europe, Africa, and Latin America. Viewers in Puerto Rico (Telemundo), North Macedonia (Kanal 5), Hungary (RTL Klub), Albania (DigitalB), and Morocco (2M) will soon be able to enjoy the hit series following deals brokered by international distributor Eccho Rights.

“'The Promise' continues to be one of our most in-demand properties” says Handan Özkubat, Director of Turkish Drama at Eccho Rights. “Into the third season, we now have over 600 episodes for international broadcast, a hugely valuable asset for channels looking for fresh, long-running content during the pandemic.”

Produced by Karamel Yapim for Kanal 7 in Turkey, upon launch in February 2019, “The Promise” immediately tripled the broadcaster’s share in Turkish prime time and has maintained this strong performance over the last year and a half.

"The Promise" tells the story of Reyhan who promises a dying family friend that she will marry his rebellious son Emir, and straighten him out. Despite the hostility she suffers from her new family, Reyhan is determined to honour her promise.

Throughout the first two seasons, Reyhan and Emir’s romance grows, but tragedy strikes at the end of the second season as Reyhan, pregnant with their first baby, dies in childbirth. During the third season, the audience sees how Emir struggles to cope with life as a father, having lost his wife.
