"The Crack"
Endemol Shine Poland announced that filming has begun on a new crime series for Sony Pictures Television Networks Central Europe and free to air channel Polsat, which will serve as the project partner. Titled “The Crack,” the show combines crime drama with psychological thriller and is an adaptation of the best-selling novel of the same name and its sequel “The Pact,” by Igor Brejdygant.
The main protagonist in “The Crack” (known in Polish as "Rysa") is Monika Brzozowska, a policewoman with a troubled past who works at the Homicide Department in Warsaw. As she investigates a series of murders, she starts encountering clues leading to herself. She suspects this is not only about settling scores. Suffering from memory loss, Brzozowska gets involved in a dangerous game that will force her to confront the demons from her past once again. The sequel, “The Pact” (known in Polish as "Układ"), continues the story of Commissioner Monika Brzozowska.
Ryszard Sibilski, Managing Director of Endemol Shine Poland, said: “This riveting crime series based on the best-selling novel 'The Crack' will invite viewers into the dark world of deals, dependencies and secrets. Sony Pictures and Polsat are the ideal partners to bring this drama to the market, and we are thrilled to already be filming with the stellar cast in Warsaw and Gdynia”.
The cast include top Polish actors Julia Kijowska, Maciej Zakościelny, Janusz Chabior, Kinga Preis, Dawid Ogrodnik, Mariusz Ostrowski, and Zbigniew Zamachowski. Meanwhile, Maciej Migas, Łukasz Kośmicki, and Leszek Dawid will direct.
