Global film and television studio Fifth Season has secured a major round of international pre-sales for the upcoming limited drama series "The Good Daughter," based on the New York Times-bestselling novel by Karin Slaughter. The psychological crime drama has been acquired by Sky (UK and Ireland), Bell Media (Canada), Stan (Australia), Sky (New Zealand), and HBO Max (EMEA). Produced by Made Up Stories in partnership with Fifth Season, the series was commissioned by Peacock in the U.S., with Fifth Season handling global distribution.

Jennifer Ebell, EVP of Television Distribution at Fifth Season, commented: “Bruna and the team at Made Up Stories have an unparalleled instinct for bringing page-turning fiction to the screen. After the success of 'Nine Perfect Strangers' and 'The Last Anniversary,' it’s a thrill to reunite for 'The Good Daughter' – a gripping, female-driven crime drama that fuses family secrets, emotional gut-punches, and the kind of twists that keep you watching long past bedtime.”

"The Good Daughter" features a high-profile cast including Rose Byrne ("Physical," "Damages"), Meghann Fahy ("The White Lotus," "The Perfect Couple"), Brendan Gleeson ("The Banshees of Inisherin") and Harper Steele ("Will & Harper"). The series is scheduled to premiere on Peacock in 2026.

Set in the small town of Pikeville, "The Good Daughter" is a suspenseful thriller layered with an emotionally resonant story about family, trauma, and survival. Sisters Charlotte (Fahy) and Samantha Quinn (Byrne) have spent two decades rebuilding their lives after a night of violence shattered their family. When another violent event shakes their community, Charlotte—now a lawyer—becomes the first witness at the scene, triggering a wave of revelations. As the investigation unfolds, the story traces not only the enduring bond between a father and his daughters, but also the complicated ties between sisters.

Karin Slaughter ("Pieces of Her," "Will Trent") serves as writer and executive producer. Bruna Papandrea, Steve Hutensky, and Casey Haver executive produce for Made Up Stories ("The Undoing," "Pieces of Her," "Wolf Like Me"), alongside series lead Rose Byrne. Steph Green ("Watchmen," "The Americans") directs and executive produces all episodes.

The project is part of Fifth Season’s expanding slate of premium literary adaptations, which also includes Made Up Stories’ "Nine Perfect Strangers" and "The Last Anniversary" based on novels by Liane Moriarty; Mammoth Screen’s Agatha Christie adaptations such as "Towards Zero" and "Murder Is Easy"; and Sid Gentle Films’ acclaimed spy-action series "Killing Eve," based on Luke Jennings' novellas.
