FilmRise appoints Daniel Gagliardi to Vice President of Digital Distribution and Business Development

FilmRise recently named Daniel Gagliardi Vice President of all Digital Distribution and Business Development aspects of the company. “Daniel brings high level and valuable experience working at large content providers and streaming platforms since the genesis of SVOD & AVOD which will surely have an immediate positive impact on our initiatives in support of our streaming partners and our own FilmRise OTT channels,"  Danny Fisher, CEO at FilmRise said upon making the announcement.

Under his new role, Gagliardi is tasked with overseeing the growth and performance optimization of FilmRise AVOD and FAST channels in addition to creating opportunities and implementing new strategies for FilmRise’s AVOD and FAST partners around the world. The executive will report directly to Melissa Wohl, SVP, Head of Sales for FilmRise. “I am excited to join FilmRise, a recognized leader and true innovator in the digital industry," Gagliardi said. "I look forward to expanding upon their rapidly growing AVOD and FAST channel distribution successes in addition to creating new opportunities for their emerging original content creation business."

He previously served as Head of Content at Vudu where he was responsible for building and leading the content partnerships team. He contributed to the increase usage of Vudu, by growing active users and average user session lengths across all demos. He covered all sort of content, including spectrum, including original programming, film/tv licensing and third-party channel licensing.

He also debuted Vudu’s first original programs and partnered with hundreds of content licensors, including Disney, Warner Brothers, Sony, Lionsgate, MGM, FilmRise and Samuel Goldwyn, among others. Prior to that he worked as Vice President, Worldwide Television and Digital Distribution for Lionsgate where he oversaw content licensing partnerships with an emphasis on
AVOD.
