FilmRise is celebrating 25 years since the very first episode of HLN’s most popular and successful true-crime series "Forensic Files". Kicking off at CrimeCon 2021 as an event sponsor, FilmRise will feature the series throughout the weekend across video, print, social media, and an interactive photo booth.

This summer, FilmRise will engage with fans across streaming with free, bespoke marathons on popular platforms and engaging social media content including polling fans on their favorite episodes and cases.

In the fall, FilmRise will participate online in National Forensic Science Week leading up to the airing of its original TV special celebrating the iconic series. “Forensic Files” became an instant hit and is considered a pioneer of the documentary-style crime-science genre.

Danny Fisher,  CEO of FilmRise, comments, “'Forensic Files’ was one of the first programs we acquired when FilmRise was formed in 2012, and it has now become one of the most popular library shows within the streaming space. It is exciting to watch as the program’s  popularity continues to grow, and as its loyal fan base rapidly expands.”

25TH ANNIVERSARY TV SPECIAL
Produced by FilmRise and GaryLico TV, the 25th Anniversary commemorative special will be a 60-minute program that pays tribute to the series with help from its dedicated fanbase. The special will be filled with never-before-seen interviews and exclusive behind-the-scenes footage, as well as a global fan-hosted countdown of favorite episodes based on a wide-reaching fan survey.

Paul Dowling, the creator of the series, adds: "For 25 years, 'Forensic Files' has set the standard for true-crime programming.  FilmRise has been an invaluable partner bringing this history-making series to the world.  We’re proud to be working with their excellent team, everyone a ground breaker in our business. It’s great to get our team back together for this tribute to 'Forensic Files' for our rabid fans.”

FilmRise will continue its celebrations by launching a new re-branding of the series to commemorate the program’s 25th Anniversary. The special Anniversary logo will be present on all FilmRise OTT video platforms, YouTube and partner AVOD channels around the world. FilmRise will unveil a sneak peak of the special Commemorative TV program at this year’s CrimeCon in Austin, TX and will coordinate social media stunts, trivia, and interactive contests throughout the year so “Forensic Files” fans can partake in the celebration.
