France tv distribution has launched international distribution of "Chemical Bond" ("Chercheurs"), a film by Aurélien Peilloux, starring Galatéa Bellugi ("Junkyard Dog"), Stefan Crépon ("The Quiet Son") and Emmanuelle Devos ("A Smile Doesn’t Lie").

Distributed worldwide by France tv distribution, "Chemical Bond" will be launched at the Cannes Film Festival, which will take place from May 13 to 24, 2025.

This film, currently in production, is produced by Delante Productions and Melocoton Films. "Set in the competitive world of scientific research, 'Chemical Bond' is a vibrant and intimate coming-of-age story about ambition and trust, that we are excited to bring to Cannes this year. Against the backdrop of making discoveries about curing depression and personal rivalries, Agathe and Charles must navigate the delicate balance between scientific ambition and emotional loyalty. Lively Galatéa Bellugi and the more introverted Stefan Crépon will bring balance to the characters," said Alexandre René, VP International Cinema Sales at France tv distribution and Julia Schulte, SVP International Sales at France tv distribution.

SYNOPSIS
Agathe, 23, a brilliant and ambitious chemistry student, arrives in Paris to begin her thesis in the prestigious laboratory of Anne Risler, a charismatic researcher whom she greatly admires. Agathe is thrilled: she has the chance to work on the lab’s most promising subject, terastene, a molecule that could cure depression.

But 25-year-old Charles, a flamboyant researcher in the final year of his thesis, doesn’t see it that way: terastene is his own discovery, and there are no friends in this world. Yet when Charles realizes that Agathe has a real gift for chemistry, a friendship fueled by deep respect develops between the two. Charles learns to trust, while Agathe learns to open up. And together, no molecule can resist them.

Unfortunately, the terastene turns out to be much less effective than expected, and the two are under pressure to bounce back. When Anne Risler encourages Agathe to pursue a promising lead in Charles’s research. Agathe sees a unique opportunity for her thesis. Caught between ambition and the loyalty to a budding friendship, she faces a heart-wrenching choice.
