Fremantle announced at the Asia Television Forum and Market a new deal with Malaysian broadcasting giant Astro to produce the iconic entertainment format Fremantle's "Family Feud." The deal with Astro, which will be the home for "Family Feud Malaysia," includes producing multilingual versions of the format, with production expected to commence imminently.

"Family Feud Malaysia" is expected to make its debut on Astro in mid-2023. The popular entertainment format has already seen success across Asia, with local versions produced in China, India, Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, Myanmar, Hong Kong, Cambodia, and Vietnam. This follows recent news that "Family Feud Mongolia" will launch in 2023 on StarTV.

Haryaty Rahman, SVP of Distribution Asia, International at Fremantle, said: “We’re so pleased to be able to share the news about this fantastic deal at Asia’s biggest TV market. 'Family Feud' is the kind of format that really captures cultural nuances in a fun and often hilarious way, so we can’t wait to see the format air in Malaysia. Astro is a powerhouse, and the fact that they will produce multilingual versions of Family Feud Malaysia is a testament to their vision and aptitude to cater to Malaysia’s multicultural society.”

Agnes Rozario, Director of Content at Astro, said: “We are extremely pleased to announce our adaptation of one of the most beloved game shows in the US as well as around the world. 'Family Feud' has always been synonymous with entertainment for the family as family members get to play along while spending time together. The time is right for such a production that will engage our audience across all segments on a regular basis, with opportunities for Astro customers to also participate and enjoy loyalty rewards. We are also taking the opportunity to produce the show in multilingual versions as we aim to highlight Malaysia’s unique diversity.” As one of television’s longest-running, highest-rated, and most loved game shows, "Family Feud" reveals that the simplest question can generate the most outrageous answers.
