RCN Television has just signed an agreement with Fremantle to produce for Poland's TVN Discovery, the first international sequel to "I'm Betty the Ugly". "Two decades after its first edition, 'I am Betty, the ugly' is still a phenomenon in tune in Colombia," said María Lucía Hernández, Director of International Sales for RCN Televisión. "We recently broadcast a fourth edition through Canal RCN and once again we became number one in ratings in prime time of 2019."

"Yo soy Betty, la fea" is an original story by Fernando Gaitán, produced by RCN Televisión, which in 2010 received Guinness World Records as the most successful soap opera on TV. Since its premiere, it has been broadcast in 180 countries, dubbed into 25 languages and with almost 20 adaptations worldwide.

It is worth noting that in October 2008, TVN Discovery aired the adaptation of 235 episodes of "I am Betty, the Ugly" in Poland, under the name "Brzydula". This sequel was added to the Colombian one, released in 2002 with the name "Ecomoda".

Polonia's TVN predicts that the new international sequel will have 180 episodes.
