Future Studios, the factual content business and video production division of Future Publishing and distributor TVF International have launched a brand new factual series "Unbelievable Me" (10x45’), produced in partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery for its linear channels and discovery+ in the UK, Germany, Benelux, Italy, Latin America and Poland.
"Unbelievable Me" features incredible real life stories of human bravery as inspirational people strive to overcome severe illnesses and medical conditions, refusing to allow their disabilities to dominate their lives. Executive producer on "Unbelievable Me" is Future Studios Director of Programmes, Peter Wyles, who oversaw a deal to partner with TVF International. Series Producer is Scott Ward.
“This is a really important series that showcases incredible, inspirational characters who refuse to let their conditions get in the way of them leading positive and fulfilling lives. We have spent years being trusted by people to make films for our digital channels and are very proud to be producing a television series that will allow a brand new audience to get to know these amazing characters and their moving stories. With our experience and trust in this world, this is a series that we hope to be making for many years to come” said Future Studios’ Director of Programmes Peter Wyles.
“We're thrilled to be partnering with Future and TVF on this fantastic series celebrating difference and diversity through a medical lens. It's uplifting, positive tone sits perfectly with our brilliant pipeline of commissioned medical content, and it was great to be able to calibrate the stories to the requirements of our markets, creating a truly international piece” said Andreas Lemos, Director – International Content at Warner Bros. Discovery.
“We’re delighted to bring these uplifting and diverse stories to discovery+ audiences around the world and shine a light on inspiring people who prove the power of the human spirit to overcome adversity” said Lindsey Ayotte, Director of TVF International.
Future Studios has also been commissioned by Channel 4 to produce a mid-form digital original stunt film, "Hillbilly Nation" that follows TikTok legends King Billy and The Mountain as they bring chaos and carnage to the sleepy Devon countryside. Famous for their big stunts and incredible engineering they tackle the most ambitious build of their lives, setting out to transform a clapped out old limousine into a “swimousine”...stripping the seats out to make way for two tonnes of water.
The film was commissioned by Channel 4 Digital Commissioning Executive, Thomas Pullen and will air on Channel 4’s YouTube, Facebook and Instagram channels. Executive Producers for Future Studios are John Farrar and Ellie Winstanley.
“‘Hillbilly Nation’ is an ambitious blend of mad stunts, mullets and mates. We’re incredibly proud to be bringing such an exhilarating show to the Channel 4 digital audience” said Future Studios’ Executive Producer Ellie Winstanley.
