"Pantanal" arrives in Puerto Rico after an agreement with WAPA TV, the free TV channel property of the WAPA Media corporation, a branch of Hemisphere Media Group. Broadcasted in 2022 in prime time on TV Globo, the telenovela narrates the saga of Leôncio and Marruá families, surrounded by one of the richest ecosystems in the world.

“It's great to see 'Pantanal' going to another territory in the Americas. It's a product with a universal story that engages the audience, and we are delighted to be resuming our partnership with Wapa TV with this telenovela. We always seek to take our stories to different audiences and I am sure that this negotiation will open up even more possibilities between Globo and Hemisphere Media,” said Isadora Filpi, Content Distribution & Partnerships at Globo.

“Pantanal is a telenovela with a fascinating story, not only when it comes to plot and mysticism, but also when it comes to the results it achieved throughout the years. I think the television viewers of Puerto Rico will be able to enjoy a great production shot at natural scenarios, like only Globo knows how to do,” comented Jimmy Arteaga Grustein, President of Programming, Production and Advertisement of WAPA.

Audience leader during its broadcast in Brazil, the telenovela reached channels such as Chilevisión, in Chile, Telefe, in Argentina, and Telefuturo, in Paraguay, in addition to SIC, in Portugal and HRT, in Croatia. "Pantanal" is also available in Latin America (except Brazil) on the Paramount+ platform. And next December, it will arrive in Poland. Due to an agreement with Ampersand Fiction, the production will be shown on Novelas+ and its streaming platform.

Written 32 years ago by Benedito Ruy Barbosa and adapted by his grandson, Bruno Luperi. ‘Pantanal' features names like Marcos Palmeira ('Sweet Diva'), Murilo Benício ('The Clone'), Juliana Paes ('India: A Love Story') and Renato Góes ('Orphans of a Nation') in the cast.
