One of the greatest recent successes of Globo has a long way around the world in the coming months. The telenovela ´Sweet Diva´ premiere in the United States is on the next 31st and promises to shake the 10 pm prime time on Univisión. The production is also already guaranteed in countries such as Paraguay, Peru, Nicaragua, Dominican Republic, and Honduras, following an agreement with the Albavision Group channels. Besides, it is part of the highlights catalog that the company presents during Natpe Budapest, from August 24 to 27.
The production promises to conquer the audience thanks to the performance of a powerful cast, composed by actresses Juliana Paes ('Edge of Desire' and 'Total Dreamer'), Paolla Oliveira ('Edge of Desire' and 'Irrational Heart') and the renowned Oscar nominated actress and winner of the International Emmy, Fernanda Montenegro ('The Other Side of Paradise'). The plot also shows remarkable villains such as the character played by actress Agatha Moreira ('Pride and Passion') and actor Reynaldo Gianecchini ('Family Ties'), in addition to the pleasant enjoyable histories, full of female empowerment, it is also the first case of real interaction of a digital influencer character with real audience on social media.
Written by award-winning author Walcyr Carrasco (The Other Side of Paradise’), winner of an International Emmy, and directed by Amora Mautner ('Brazil Avenue’, ' Rules of the Game’ and ‘Precious Pearl’), the telenovela ‘Sweet Diva’ it is about courage, hope and overcoming. The plot is about Maria da Paz (Juliana Paes), a committed baker who becomes a wealthy businesswoman twenty years after a tragedy strikes on the day of her wedding to Amadeu (Marcos Palmeira). From this broken union a baby is born, Jô, who seeks power and despises her mother´s humble origins. Afraid that her parents’ reunion might spoil her plans, Jô (Agatha Moreira) starts an alliance with the charming Regis (Reynaldo Gianecchini), to convince Maria to marry him and, together, they plan to steal all of Maria´s fortune. In this exciting telenovela, the optimism must be stronger than Jô’s ambition when the baker finds out about the betrayal and her own daughter´s dangerous secrets.The digital influencer Vivi Guedes, character from Paolla Oliveira, was a major hit. @estiloviviguedes, the character's official profile on social networks, brought fiction closer to real life and won over 2.5 million highly engaged “followers”, who were able to interact with the character throughout the plot.
In Brazil, it was broadcasted in 2019 and launched on the international market during NATPE 2020, the telenovela reached 55.4 million Brazilian in its final chapter, breaking the audience record of the plot and causing a real commotion on social networks: it had 48 terms in the most commented topics on Twitter, 19 of them in highlights in the World Trending Topics.
