Licensed to more than 60 countries, "Total Dreamer" has recently been redisplayed in Brazil and has broken historical records for audience reach. The story is currently on the air in Portugal, by SIC, and on the HRT channel in Croatia.
Globo continues to expand the presence of its productions in Eastern Europe throughout 2020. With productions on the air throughout the year in countries such as Croatia, Albania, Macedonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Georgia and Romania, the next stop is Hungary, country for which Globo has already licensed great successes, such as 'The King of the Cattle’, 'Caribbean Flower’ and ‘Secrets of the Sand'. It is the turn of the contemporary fairy tale ‘Total Dreamer’ to be shown on the Life TV channel, belonging to the Hungarian group Media Vivantis, at 8 pm. The telenovela debuted last week and is already winning over the country's audience and gaining positive ratings.
According to Angela Colla, Head of International Sales at Globo, the increase in the volume of productions in the Eastern European region is directly connected to an identification of the audience by the stories. “This market is very receptive to Globo's telenovelas and series, due to its engaging narratives and light themes, which talk to all audiences, regardless of language”.
Written by Rosane Svartman and Paulo Halm, and directed by Luiz Henrique Rios, ‘Total Dreamer’ tells the story of Eliza (Marina Ruy Barbosa), who flees the countryside of Rio de Janeiro and starts living on the streets of Rio’s capital. Until Eliza's path crosses that of Arthur (Fábio Assunção), who believes that she can become the winner of the Total Dreamer Girl contest, created by Carolina’s (Juliana Paes) magazine. In addition to the professional relationship, Arthur and Carolina have had an affair since adolescence and the magazine's director will not settle down until the seducer makes her pregnant, but she will see Eliza as an obstacle.
