INTER MEDYA’S “MIRACLE IN CELL NO. 7” GOES TO BRAZIL

Turkey’s distribution company announced another international sale for its hit movie “Miracle in Cell No. 7”: recently, Turkey’s Oscars contender for the 93rd Academy Awards has been licensed to Brazil and is set to make its debut soon.

Turkey’s distribution company Inter Medya announced another international sale for its hit movie “Miracle in Cell No. 7” - recently, Turkey’s Oscars contender for the 93rd Academy Awards has been licensed to Brazil and is set to make its debut soon.

Formerly, Inter Medya announced that they had already signed agreements with eight different countries for the movie’s international sales. In detail, “Miracle in Cell No. 7” has been licensed to seven countries in Latin America including Mexico (Imagen TV), Chile (Canal 13), Colombia (Caracol), Ecuador (Ecuavisa), El Salvador (Canal Seis), Honduras (Canal 11), and the Dominican Republic (Color Visión). The popular movie has also been licensed to Israel (Achla TV).

“Brazil is one of the top-ranking countries in TV consumption with its large audience. We are happy to bring Turkish titles to Brazil with a lot of potential for both theatrical and linear distribution. ‘Miracle in Cell No. 7’ already earned a solid place in cinema history. We are sure that we will hear more about the achievements of ‘Miracle in Cell No. 7’ in the coming days,”  said Beatriz Cea Okan, VP and Head of Sales and Acquisitions of Inter Medya.

Directed by Mehmet Ada Öztekin, and starring Aras Bulut İynemli and Nisa Sofiya Aksongur, "Miracle in Cell No. 7" is an adaptation of a 2013 South Korean film. The successful movie is set in the early 1980s during Turkey’s coup d’état period, and tells the heartbreaking story of Memo, a shepherd who lives with his beloved little daughter and grandmother in an Aegean town. With a mental deficiency, Memo is framed for the murder of the martial law commander’s daughter and his life is turned upside down.
