Javier Bardem, one of the most famous and award-winning actors on the international scene, returns to film in Spain after his award-winning role in Fernando León de Aranoa's 'The Good Boss". With this title he won, among others, the Goya for Best Actor and the Platino, Forqué and Feroz awards. Bardem has also been nominated for four Oscars and has won the statuette once for his performance in "No Country for Old Men", a film for which he also won a Golden Globe, a Bafta and a SAG Award. He also has six Goya Awards as an actor and two more as producer (and a total of 11 nominations), the Best Actor Award at the Cannes International Film Festival, two Volpi Cups for Best Actor at the Venice International Film Festival, the Silver Shell and the Donostia Award at the San Sebastian Film Festival, among others. The film will be released in cinemas, distributed by A Contracorriente Films and will later be available exclusively on Movistar Plus+. International sales will be handled by Goodfellas.
'El ser querido' is a Movistar Plus+ original film in co-production with Caballo Films, El Ser Querido AIE and Le Pacte (France), financed by ICAA and with the support of the Creative Europe Media Program. "El ser querido", a Movistar Plus+ original film, is one of the titles that is part of the platform's film strategy, which includes new projects by prestigious filmmakers such as Iciar Bollain ("I'm Nevenka"), Alberto Rodríguez ("Los Tigres"), Oliver Laxe and Alauda Ruiz de Azúa ("Los domingos").
Victoria Luengo has also achieved wide public and critical acclaim, both in theatre, cinema and television. In cinema, she has participated in titles such as "The Room Next Door", the latest film by Pedro Almódovar, not released yet, and "Suro", a film for which she won the Gaudí Award for Best Actress and a nomination for Best Actress at the Goya Awards. In television, she has starred in "Riot Police", the multi-award-winning original Movistar Plus+ series directed by Rodrigo Sorogoyen, for which she won the Ondas Award for Best Actress, and 'Reina Roja'. She has also received a multitude of awards for her acclaimed work in the play "Prima Facie" (2023) for which she has been recognised with the Fotogramas de Plata Award for Best Actress, the Talía Award, the Godot Award and has also been a finalist for the Max Award. She has recently received the 2024 Princess of Girona Award for the Arts.
In "El ser querido"', an acclaimed film director and his daughter, an unsuccessful actress, shoot a film together after years of estrangement and a difficult past that none of them want to talk about. Rodrigo Sorogoyen ("The New Years", "The Beasts"') will direct this project written by himself together with screenwriter Isabel Peña ("Offworld", "Riot Police", "The Beasts").
