Jennifer Salke steps down as the head of Amazon MGM Studios

Salke is segueing to a first-look film and TV producing deal with the studio. She will not be replaced, with the head of studio role eliminated in a streamlined new structure.

Jennifer Salke is stepping down as head of Amazon MGM Studios after seven years. The news was just shared internally by Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios head Mike Hopkins in a memo, which you can read below. Salke is segueing to a first-look film and TV producing deal with the studio. She will not be replaced, with the head of studio role eliminated in a streamlined new structure.

Salke, who has spearheaded Amazon’s content production since 2018, most recently guided the comedy "You’re Cordially Invited", staring Will Ferrell and Reese Witherspoon; "Unstoppable"; “On Call,” from executive producer Dick Wolfe; and the Christmas actioner "Red One", starring Dwayne Johnson and Chris Evans, among other titles.

In a memo, Salke said she had been considering  her next chapter, looking for the right time to turn the page on her career: "When I look at the teams we’ve put in place, our amazing leaders, and the incredible slate of films and shows we’ve got in the pipeline, I realized now is that moment,” Salke said in a statement. “I’m looking forward to continuing doing what I love, cultivating talent, supporting their vision, and bringing compelling stories to audiences around the world," expressed.
