During a heavy snowstorm, a train traveling from Stockholm to Narvik collides with an avalanche. All passengers must take shelter in an old, isolated hotel in the mountains nearby. Among them is the sharp and dark-minded police officer, Hanne Wilhelmsen (Ida Engvoll) and when mysterious murders start taking place at the hotel -despite being temporarily suspended from the police- Hanne begins to investigate. The lead role of Hanne Wilhelmsen will be played by Ida Engvoll (“Love and Anarchy”). The ensemble cast includes Pål Sverre Hagen (“Exit”, “Kon-Tiki”), Kjell Bergqvist (“Bäckström”, “30 Degrees in February”) and Sissela Kyle (“Fröken Frimans krig”).
Sandra Harms, Producer and Co-Founder at Nordic Drama Queens, said: “I have been longing to see Hanne Wilhelmsen on screen for years. She is an extremely unique character as her wittiness is combined with a sharp mind and extraordinary ability to read people – but she’s not always aware of how her own behavior is perceived by others. In 'Blind Spot', we will surround her with a great array of supporting characters, alongside a unique location, to create a modern, thrilling and entertaining murder mystery.”
“Blind Spot is” produced by Nordic Drama Queens in co-production with Amazon MGM Studios, and in association with Fifth Season. The script is written by celebrated author Sara Heldt (“Sandhamn Murders”, “The Death of a Pilgrim”) together with the acclaimed writer / director Erik Skjoldberg (“Occupied”, “Narvik”). Skjoldberg is also directing all four episodes of the series. Producer is Nordic Drama Queens’ Sandra Harms and Executive Producers are Line Winther Skyum Funch and Josefine Tengblad, and Anne Holt and Niclas Salomonsson.
Anne Holt is one of Scandinavia’s most successful crime writers with over 10 million books sold around the world. The Hanne Wilhelmsen series is the crown jewel of Holt’s works and one of Scandinavia’s most successful literary universes, with "1222" one of Holt’s most successful titles internationally. "1222" was nominated for the Edgar Award, the Shamus Award and the Macavity Award, making Holt the only Scandinavian writer to have been nominated for all three awards for the same book.
