"Belén"
Amazon MGM Studios and K&S Films announced that he highly anticipated film "Belén" will be release in Argentine theaters on September 18 and will launch on Prime Video later this year in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
Set in the province of Tucumán, Argentina, "Belén" follows Julieta, a young woman accused of infanticide, and Soledad Deza, the bold lawyer who risks everything to take on her highly controversial, precedent-setting case. As the trial unfolds, Julieta’s plight becomes a flashpoint in the battle against a conservative legal system —sparking a groundswell of outrage and a growing wave of solidarity that transcends borders.
Directed by and starring Dolores Fonzi (Blondi) and produced by K&S (the team behind Oscar-nominated Wild Tales), the "Belén" cast includes Camila Plaate ("Motoarrebatador"), Laura Paredes ("Argentina, 1985"), Julieta Cardinali ("Maradona: Sueño Bendito"), and Sergio Prina ("Motoarrebatador"), with special appearances by Luis Machín ("Cromañón") and César Troncoso ("El Eternauta"). Based on the book “Somos Belén” by Ana Correa, the film is written by Dolores Fonzi and Laura Paredes. K&S’ Films Leticia Cristi, and Matias Mosteirin produce, and Diego Copello executive produces.
Belén marks the latest addition to Prime Video’s growing slate of Argentine original movies, following the success of the Golden Globe-winning "Argentina, 1985" and local titles such as "Menem", "Cromañón", "Barrabrava", "Iosi, El Espía Arrepentido", "El Fin del Amor", and "Porno & Helado."
