The Brazilian giant Globo announced its offering for AVOD platforms. The official launch of the catalog will take place during the upcoming LA Screenings Independents. In the AVOD model, video-on-demand consumption is based on advertising.
Recently, the company closed a deal with the streaming platform Butaca TV in the United States and Latin America (except Brazil) to make products such as the telenovelas "Rock Story" and "Flor del Caribe" and the series "Las Cariocas" and "Ojos sin culpa" available. In addition to Butaca TV, Globo's productions are also on Pluto TV and Vix in Latin America (except Brazil), with constantly evolving content updates. The catalog for AVOD platforms also includes works such as "Suerte de Vivir," a telenovela written by Rosane Svartman and Paulo Halm that was a finalist for the Rose d'Or Awards in 2020, and Gloria Pérez's telenovela "Travesía."
Isadora Filpi, Content Distribution & Partnerships, referred to the expansion of business models: "We are open to new business models, and agreements with AVOD platforms show how our content can meet different customer needs. It's a way to distribute Globo's telenovelas and series to reach new audiences and territories. We have a very attractive catalog with different products, and we hope that more doors will open to new alliances," she commented.
