Germany's Leonine Studios expanded its production division and launched the new label Leonine Documentaries, to be headed by Jochen Koestler. Alongside Koestler, who has been Executive Vice President of Non-Fiction at Leonine Studios since January 1, 2024, Executive Producer Janek Romero and Line Producer Andreas Tuerpe are responsible for developing and producing all Leonine Documentaries projects.

The three executives have already worked in various roles and constellations on such successful and acclaimed documentaries as "Jan Ullrich - Der Gejagte" (Prime Video), "Der Anschlag - Angriff Auf Den Bvb" (Sky), "Schickeria - Als München Noch Sexy War" (Prime Video) and "22. Juli - Die Schüsse Von München" (Sky).

Jochen Koestler, EVP Non-Fiction at Leonine Studios, said: "Leonine Documentaries stands for topics and people that shape the zeitgeist. Our goal is to produce premium commercial documentaries for a broad audience with a perfect blend of information, entertainment, and great production value. With the new label, we expand Leonine Studios' premium content portfolio in the non-fiction sector and enhance the outstanding documentary expertise of Leonine's beetz brothers film production and the strong information program segment of Leonine's i&u TV with additional high-potential growth genres in documentaries. We're planning to expand this program area in line with market demand."

Executive Producer Janek Romero and Line Producer Andreas Tuerpe added: "Thanks to Leonine Studios' excellent internal and external network, the strong business relationships with all streamers and broadcasters in Germany, and well-known international players, we have a perfect starting point for the realization of promising stories and will now fully focus on the development and expansion of our production slate."
