Leonine Studios secures deals for "Troppo," "Bonn" in multiple territories

"Troppo" was sold to CANAL+ Group’s thriller channel POLAR+ for French speaking territories. The FreeTV rights to "Bonn" were sold to RTV Slovenija, MTVA Hungary, RTP2 Portugal and SBS Australia.

Leonine Studios has sold the Basic PayTV, SVOD, TVOD and EST rights to the crime-drama series "Troppo" to CANAL+ Group’s thriller channel POLAR+ for French speaking territories. In addition, the FreeTV rights to the political thriller series "Bonn" were sold to RTV Slovenija, MTVA Hungary, RTP2 Portugal and SBS Australia.

AMC Networks Central Europe acquired the PayTV, FreeTV and SVOD rights for all Adria-Balkan territories, including Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Slovenia, as well as Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Poland and Romania. The FreeTV rights were sold to RTP2 Portugal. The series was previously sold to Viaplay for the Nordics and the Netherlands as well as Amazon Freevee for Germany and the UK.

"Troppo" is an EQ Media Group and Beyond Entertainment production in association with Renegade Entertainment, with major production financing from the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, AGC Studios in association with Aperture Media Partners, and Screen Australia in association with Screen Queensland and with support from the City of Gold Coast.

"Troppo" was created and written by the award-winning filmmaker Yolanda Ramke. She co-directed the series with acclaimed directors Jocelyn Moorhouse, Catherine Millar, Ben Howling and Grant Brown. The producer of the series is Karl Zwicky. Yolanda Ramke executive produces along with Stuart Ford and Lourdes Diaz, Matt Bankston with AGC Studios, Greg Quail, Lisa Duff, Simonne Overend with EQ Media Group, Mikael Broglund, David Ogilvy with Beyond Entertainment, Sally Riley and Andrew Gregory with Australian Broadcasting Corporation as well as Thomas Jane and Courtney Lauren Penn with Renegade Entertainment. 

Based on the highly successful "Crimson Lake" novel series written by New York Times best-selling author Candice Fox, the series premiered very successfully on Australia’s ABC and debuted in the US on Amazon Freevee in May 2022. Leonine Studios also handles international sales of the second season, which has just completed production. Thomas Jane plays down-and-out ex-cop Ted Conkaffey, who is recruited by Amanda Pharell, an eccentric small town private investigator played by Nicole Chamoun to investigate the murder of a brilliant tech pioneer. They are joined by multi award-winning actress Radha Mitchell, David Lyons and Yerin Ha.
