Federation Studios announced a strategic addition to the group’s general management team. Marco Chimenz, who has, up until now, been the Co-CEO of Cattleya (part of ITV Studios), one of Europe’s leading production companies, is about to join Pascal Breton, founder and CEO, and his wingman Lionel Uzan, as the Group’s Co-Managing Director. Chimenz will be joined by his long-time collaborator Joshua Berman, currently Head of Business and Legal Affairs at Cattleya, as International Business Affairs Advisor. Marco Chimenz’s and Joshua Berman’s appointments at Federation Studios will be effective as of January 1st 2024.

Given his status as a major player in the international audiovisual arena, Marco Chimenz’s appointment will further bolster Federation Studios’ general management as the Group continues to grow exponentially. Having recently announced its acquisition of international animation and distribution company GO-N Productions, Federation now boasts 35 production companies in its group, including Cottonwood Media, Fabula, Vertigo, Robin &Co, Calt, Bonne Pioche, Empreinte Digitale, Cheyenne Federation and Drama Team. Federations Studios has consequently secured a strong presence in Paris, Los Angeles, Rome, Madrid, London, Berlin, Cologne, Brussels and Tel Aviv.In the realm of TV drama, Federation Studio France was recently recognized as the country’s number one production company; similarly, Federation Studios is officially the second leading French group in terms of hours of TV drama (source: Ecran Total, September 13, 2023).

Marco Chimenz, like Lionel Uzan, will be the Group’s Co-Managing Director and will work alongside Pascal Breton, will be able to share the immense audiovisual expertise he has acquired while at Cattleya and at Mediaset and Medusa Film in Los Angeles, particularly in setting up international co-productions (ZeroZeroZero, Gomorrah, Django, etc.). “Our goal remains the same: to attract the best producers, showrunners and directors in the business. Welcoming Marco, one of Europe’s most talented and appreciated producers, can only strengthen Federation’s knowledge and expertise in the areas of pre-financing, co-production and sales of movies and shows. It will also boost our presence worldwide as we continue to build an international studio that works closely with creators around the globe, a feature that makes us so distinct,” Pascal Breton, CEO Federation Studios, stated.

“I am so enthusiastic about joining Pascal and Lionel, two producers and entrepreneurs that I have known for years and for whom I have the highest esteem as they lead a brilliant group with such a strong international drive. Naturally, having worked with Riccardo Tozzi and Giovanni Stabilini for over half my life, moving on from Cattleya and its formidable team feels like leaving family. I am deeply thankful to all of them for the adventure of a lifetime, as I am to Julian Bellamy, Lisa Perrin, Duncan Walker and the group of great executives at ITV Studios,” Marco Chimenz, Federation's Co-Managing Director, added.

‘’Marco is a first-class talent and a highly regarded figure of our industry, responsible for some of the finest productions and deals in the European market. He’s a great addition to our dream team of partners, producers and executives. Can’t wait to start working with Marco and Joshua to drive Federation and continue its spectacular run,” Lionel Uzan said.

‘’We shared a splendid adventure with our friend Marco for over twenty years, and we wish him great success in his new venture. We know that he will do wonderful things with Federation while all that he has given to Cattleya will be left with us and the entire team trained by him and Josh, whom we also wish all the best," Riccardo Tozzi, Founder of Cattleya, added.
