Sophie Ferron, President & Founder of Media Ranch announced that the company renewed its partnership with DR (Danish Broadcasting Corporation) to represent their entire unscripted Formats catalog for a multi-year worldwide exclusive agreement.

Since the launch two years ago of the partnership with DR, Media Ranch has sold several of their format options, some of which have been produced and broadcast. Media Ranch also announced it has optioned two DR formats in the U.S. to prolific, North Carolina-based Figure 8 Films as well as added two new DR Formats for its Spring collection, in addition to four other new formats Media Ranch is debuting.

DR format, "Fish Bingo", was just announced as a Nominee in this year’s International Format Awards in the category of Best Multi-Platform Format. Winners announced in April.

Figure 8 Films has acquired two DR formats from Media Ranch, "Mom He’s a Dane", a reality program showing the challenges that immigrant families face in a new country, especially when dating local, outside of their own community (race, religion, creed, class); and "Too Shy to Date", using VR technology, introverted singles can explore dating via their avatars and then meet for IRL.

Media Ranch is taking two new DR titles out to the world as formats this Spring: "Here’s Your Hit" a music entertainment program exploring what makes a hit; and "What’s Your Problem?" a fascinating debate game show on what society finds offensive.

Media Ranch previously announced several options and production of DR shows.  Productions include: celebrity lifestyle format, "Celebrity Identity" in Estonia for ETV; nature reality program "Stung Bitten Burned" which aired this year in the Netherlands on NPO3, will soon launch in Belgium and was optioned in Sweden. "Comedy on the Edge", where a comedian travels the country and meets locals, was produced in Canada on CBC channels (Season 6 under the title 'Still Standing') and also remains successful in Portugal (Season 6), Spain (season 3) and Catalunya (Season 7) and Quebec (Season 4). A French adaptation of "Judge for One Day" has successfully aired on RTLTVI in Belgium. This factual, social experiment program seeks criminal justice by eight ordinary people sitting in the judge’s chair for a day. And "Bamselægen" will enter into its third Season on NRK in Norway.

A sampling of Media Ranch options for DR shows include: "Big Love", an intense relationship weight-loss reality format, and winner of the Danish TV Prisen Award, has now been sold by Media Ranch into eight countries: U.S., The Netherlands, France, Italy, Finland, Germany, Canada and Belgium. Also, "The Story of…" is building its track record with active options in The Netherlands, Belgium and France.

Tanya van der Goes, Media Ranch Senior Vice President states, “Media Ranch is thrilled to renew our complementary partnership with DR, we appreciate their confidence in us to represent them exclusively and globally. We’ve had a great run repping their fantastic programs such as 'Fish Bingo', recently optioned in the U.S. by JFL, and has just been nominated for an International Format Award. We are also excited that next to 'Big Love', Figure 8 has now acquired 'Mom, He’s A Dane' and 'Too Shy to Date' for the U.S' And we are looking forward to taking two more formats out to the world – 'Here’s Your Hit' and 'What’s Your Problem?.”'

DR Executive Director, Noemi Ferrer, states, “DR is pleased with the exceptional representation of Media Ranch with our prized IP.
