Studiocanal confirmed they have taken European TV & SVOD rights on Francis Ford Coppola’s “Megalopolis” (excluding Spain, Russia and Pay1 in France). The deal was closed by Juliette Hochart of Studiocanal and George Hayum of Hirsch Wallerstein Hayum Matlof + Fishman. The 7-year deal further aligns Francis Ford Coppola and Zoetrope with Studiocanal whose catalog boasts Coppola classics such as “Apocalypse Now,” “The Conversation,” “The Outsiders” and “One From The Heart.”

Each title has been restored by the Zoetrope and Studiocanal teams under Francis Ford Coppola’s supervision with “Apocalypse Now: The Final Cut” released in 2019 premiering at Tribeca and “The Outsiders: The Complete Novel” released in 2021 premiering at San Sebastian. “One From the Heart: Reprise” released in 2024 premiering at Venice Classics 2023 and “The Conversation” releasing in 2024 premiering at Il Cinema Ritrovato 2023.

“Megalopolis” is a Roman Epic set in an imagined Modern America. The City of New Rome must change, causing conflict between Cesar Catilina, a genius artist who seeks to leap into a utopian, idealistic future, and his opposition, Mayor Franklyn Cicero, who remains committed to a regressive status quo, perpetuating greed, special interests, and partisan warfare. Torn between them is socialite Julia Cicero, the mayor's daughter, whose love for Cesar has divided her loyalties, forcing her to discover what she truly believes humanity deserves.
