UK-based distributor DCD Rights has acquired new music title "Life in Six Strings with Kylie Olsson" which will launch at MIPCOM. The funny and insightful 8 x 30’ series, produced by LISS Films, sees TV host and music Journalist, Kylie Olsson, take viewers into the homes and sanctuaries of some of the world’s most iconic guitarists including Motley Crue’s Mick Mars, Def Leppard’s Phil Collen and Nuno Bettencourt from Extreme.
Kylie Olsson has interviewed many of the world’s bands. During the pandemic lockdown, Kylie started a YouTube channel and began teaching herself to play the guitar. She got in touch with many of the well-known guitarists she knew for their help and advice and so the idea for "Life in Six Strings" was born.
Each episode delves into the artist’s extensive guitar collections and their favourite hangouts, shedding light on the places where they found inspiration and honed their craft. This series isn’t just about the music. It’s about the passion, dedication and artistry offering viewers an unparalleled opportunity to witness these living legends in a whole new light. Sharing their love for music and their profound connection to the guitar and revealing where they come from, both sonically and geographically, has informed their music. It shows a different side of the artists that the public doesn’t often get to see—putting an emphasis on who they are as people and letting them tell their stories in their own words. Leading guitar exponents Joe Bonamassa, Grace Potter, Steve Vai, Tyler Bryant and Charlie Starr are also featured.
Ahead of MIPCOM, DCD Rights has also announced a number of additional sales for recently launched music content including feelgood Festive title Christmas At Graceland which has been picked up by Czech TV, HRT Croatia, TV2 Denmark, Globo Brazil as well as SBS Australia, which has additionally acquired Electric Lady Studios: A Jimi Hendrix Vision for NITV and Chicago & Friends Live at 55 for SBS On Demand.
