Onza Distribution announced the sale of TVI’s Portugues series "Cacao" to Mediaset España. This will be the first time that a Portuguese soap opera will be broadcasted on national television in Spain.

"Cacao" premiered in January 2024, reporting an impressive audience share of 19.48% (861,944 viewers) in Portugal. Since then, it has continued to lead the prime time in the country, amassing an average viewership of 18.99% share. Following this track record on television, Mediaset España has now acquired the telenovela, which will join the thematic channel Divinity’s programming grid starting from a date that is yet to be announced.
In a cocoa plantation in Itacaré (Brazil), Cacao (Matilde Reymão) makes chocolate with exotic flavors. Her life changes when the man who seemed to be her biological father, Joaquim (Paulo Calatré), reveals her true origins as the illegitimate daughter of Justino (António Capelo), the farm owner. This revelation leaves her in the spotlight as she becomes a rightful heir to Justino’s estate. And her rivals will do anything to stop her threat. Cacao's life is in danger but Tiago (José Condessa), a charming young man she falls in love with, will do everything he can to protect her from her enemies.
During MIPTV, Onza Distribution presented along with "Cacao" all its main fiction headliners in the 2024 edition of MIPTV, such as "Heartless", Onza's highly anticipated thriller that will premiere on Prime Video Spain on April 19, or "Golden Swan', a period drama set in Prague in 1939, as well as new seasons of "Flowers Over The Inferno" or "Sweet Strawberries".
