Talpa Studios’ hit format "The Quiz with Balls" continues its international momentum with a new adaptation commissioned by Portugal’s leading broadcaster, TVI. Following successful launches in key markets including the Netherlands, U.S., Germany, Spain, Argentina, and Uruguay, the Portuguese version will be produced by Fremantle Portugal and filmed at Talpa Studios’ production hub in Argentina. The high-energy game show, which challenges contestants to stay dry while answering questions under pressure, is slated to debut this fall on TVI’s prime-time schedule.

Sebastian van Barneveld, Director Global Distribution at Talpa Studios shared his excitement: “It’s fantastic to see the energy of 'The Quiz with Balls' make its way to Portugal. The combination of high-stakes questions, hilarious wipeouts, and team strategy proves to be a winning formula – one that travels incredibly well. The show is currently performing very well in both the U.S. and the Netherlands, across linear broadcasts and delayed viewing. We’re excited to partner with Fremantle Portugal and TVI and look forward to seeing the show make a splash this fall.”

José Eduardo Moniz, General Manager of TVI, adds: “We’re always looking to bring fresh and engaging formats to our viewers, and 'The Quiz with Balls' offers just that – a perfect blend of knowledge, suspense, and fun. We’re confident that the Portuguese audience will embrace the energy and unpredictability of this unique game show.”

"The Quiz with Balls" features five contestants standing on a high platform over a swimming pool, ten exciting quiz questions and six giant balls. In each episode, a team of five friends, family members or colleagues, competes for a cash prize by answering one quiz question after another. For each question, each team member chooses one of six answer options. The answer options are linked to the balls, which start to roll when all answers are given. If a player stands on a correct answer, the ball stops just in time. If not, the ball will mercilessly knock the player into the pool. Each question has as many correct answers as the number of players left on the platform. In the case of question 1, that means five correct answers and one wrong answer. With each player falling into the pool, a wrong answer is added to the six answer options of the next question. For each team, the key is to stay as complete as possible for as long as possible since the tenth and final question is worth a huge cash prize.
