Nordic Entertainment Group announced that its next original film production will be the feature film "Suedi." The feature film will premiere exclusively on NENT Group’s Viaplay streaming service across the Nordic and Baltic regions in late 2021.“Comedy is a new genre for me but it’s wonderful to take on a lead role that I and so many others can really relate to. I think ‘Suedi’ tells many people’s story," Kardo Razzazi said.

‘Suedi’ is written and directed by Manuel Concha and is produced by Claudia Galli Concha and Daniel Wagner. The supporting cast in the film includes star Swedish names such as Suzanne Reuter, Johan Ulveson, Filip Berg, Ann Petrén, Claes Månsson, Göran Ragnerstam, and Christian Hillborg. “The talent we’ve assembled on both sides of the camera shows just how high NENT Group is aiming with our next feature film,” Filippa Wallestam, NENT Group Chief Content Officer said.

The comedy highlights concepts about identity, cultural misunderstandings, and the desire to belong, ‘Suedi’ brings together a spectacular cast of Swedish acting heavyweights. It follows Mahmut (Kardo Razzazi: ‘Peacemaker’; NENT Group’s ‘Honour’) lives in a tough area of Stockholm and has a dream to be fully accepted as Swedish. And when he unexpectedly finds 30 million kronor, it’s time to cash in. “Most people have never found 30 million kronor in cash, but at some time we’ve all struggled to fit in and live up to expectations," Wallestam said. "Suedi’ brings a light touch to some heavy topics and can hopefully help us understand each other a little better."

Mahmut changes his name to Sebastian, gets himself a nice house along with a Volvo, and starts wearing stripy socks. Together with Isabelle, he begins planning a big wedding, until one day he discovers the banknotes are only valid for two more weeks. "I know how easy it is to put a foot wrong and how many comical situations can arise," Concha said. "I’ve always wanted to make an affectionate comedy about belonging and culture clashes, and I’m very grateful to have the chance to do so with Viaplay and the best of Sweden’s acting talents.”
