Onza Distribution, one of the main content distributors in Spain, closed the sale of the documentary “Equilibri by Okuda” with Japan’s public broadcaster NHK’s acquisition arm, NHK Enterprises Inc.

Okuda is a well-known artist that has worked in almost every corner of the world: India, United States, Japan, Chile, South Africa, Hungary, and Canada, always focusing his art work in murals, sculptures, and paintings that are very recognizable by their colourful geometric forms.

The 50-minute documentary shot it 4K outlines the success and development of one of his most ambitious projects: a huge sculpture that will be burned down during the Fallas Festival in Valencia. The artist will have to deal with the criticism of the traditionalists against his avant-garde art.

"I find the style and the cinematography of 'Equilibri by Okuda' very impressive and beautifully shot in 4K, and I am very happy that we can now present this artistic film on NHK BS1 Channel as well as NHK BS4K Channel, which is NHK’s brand new channel launched in December, 2018. This agreement consolidates the strong presence that the productions distributed by Onza have in the Asian continent,”  said Hidenobu Miyazaki, Deputy Manager (Acquisitions) from NHK Enterprises.

Carlos Garde, Director of Onza Distribution, added: "We are very happy to bring our productions to the Japanese audience. This sale is part of our growth strategy in a market with a huge potential. Our relationship with NHK is excellent and we are already talking with them about our new releases".
