Paramount Global Content Distribution has licensed the limited Republic Pictures series "The Gray House" to Prime Video, where it will debut in the U.S. in early 2026. The historical drama recounts the true story of unsung women who played a decisive role in turning the tide of the American Civil War in favor of the North.

"The Gray House" stars Mary-Louise Parker, Daisy Head, Amethyst Davis, Ben Vereen, Paul Anderson, Ian Duff, Hannah James, Robert Knepper, Christopher McDonald, Colin Morgan, Rob Morrow, Colin O’Donoghue, Sam Trammell, and Keith David. The series was directed by Roland Joffé and written by Leslie Greif, Darrell Fetty and John Sayles, with music composed by John Debney and Bruce Broughton. Executive producers include Kevin Costner, Morgan Freeman, Lori McCreary, Rod Lake, Howard Kaplan and Leslie Greif, with production by Territory Pictures, Revelations Entertainment and Big Dreams Entertainment.

The series follows a Virginia socialite, her mother, a formerly enslaved Sister-in-Arms, and the city’s most notorious courtesan as they risk their lives within the corridors of Confederate power. Together, they transform their Underground Railroad into a perilous spy network, working to help win the war and safeguard American democracy.

The soundtrack features a diverse line-up of artists, including Willie Nelson, Lainey Wilson, Shania Twain, Killer Mike, The War and Treaty, Drake Milligan, Scott Stapp, Yolanda Adams, Adrienne Warren and Larkin Poe. As Dr. Markus Schäfer noted: ‘The series underscores the power of storytelling to preserve history and highlight voices that shaped a nation.’
